Vuna Bosco Agro Technical Secondary School 2018 out - going students had their retreat with the theme “THE RIVER ME” - reflecting on your life as resembling the flow of a river from its first beginning in a hidden secret source to its out – flowing into the ocean of its destination. The Retreat was held at Kiningunan and animated by Fr Pankaj to the grade 12s and Trainee Twos.
The retreat began with discussions on many important points related to the theme. The first point covered was how each individual person must relate his life as a river. This means if a person has been away from God by accepting the evil spirit to overrule his life to do evil things and sometimes after that he wants to turn away from the evil spirit to give his life back to God, he must relate his life as a river because when a river is flooded, it removes any rubbish to be clean all the time.
The second point which was related to the theme was how Jesus used the parables saying, “I am thirsty.”
( John19.28) when he was crucified on the cross. This means that, he was saying this because he wants us to be like rivers, to change our lives and come to him, live a Christian life in order to enter God’s kingdom. Lastly, the theme of the retreat was summarised with presentations on how we felt after the sessions and also to share the origin of our livelihood to our friends and Fr.Panjaj
This retreat was once again another reminder to us to live a Christian life as we were going out into the world out there. Thank you VunaBosco.

Additional - impressions given by students
The retreat was timely, especially for Trainee 2s as they were going away for their “on the job training”. As for academic students, examination is just around the corner.
It was mainly a time for reflection on individual’s life and also a learning experience from others when everyone was given the chance to share their experiences based on the theme. Sharing also encouraged them to make adjustment to their lives. One student said, the retreat was wonderful and meaningful and he believe that Mother Mary can make him an instrument of her love.
