Being the eldest comes with many expectations but it never occurred to me that I will fall short early in life. After completing my Gr.12 in 2009, I was not offered a space in college. I took it so hard I just wanted to bury myself and hide from the rest of the world.
In 2010, I took up a 6 month Distance Learning Course to upgrade my marks. I also made a very personal commitment to devote myself to church activities. I prayed like never before and also pleaded the intercession of Mother Mary. During my ordeal, my brother in-law, a Bosconian, advised me to apply to DBTI. I never knew Don Bosco then. I sent two applications to DBTI and DWU respectively. In 2011, I was accepted to study in DBTI. Since then, I never looked back but got my eyes set on the future.
At present, I am a Salesian Educator in Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu. I am also a Youth Facilitator and Industrial Training Officer responsible for the On-the Job Training for students. I owe most of my formation to the Salesians and their style of education. I am now more independent, open-minded and optimistic about life.
