The Salesians of Don Bosco in Papua New Guinea and in the Solomon Islands continue their work in spreading awareness to prevent the spread of Covid19 virus in both countries. Last March they have produced a video inviting people to protect themselves from the virus. Now they have prepared 11 flyers covering all aspects of Covid-19.

In times of crisis like the Covid-19 pandemic, along with the necessary rules and regulations, raising social awareness among all citizens is a must to reduce or prevent the outbreak of Covid19 in PNG ad SI. Raising social awareness is an indispensable preventive measure in the spirit of Saint John Bosco’s Preventive System of education.

Don Bosco

Don Bosco was creative, enthusiastic and enterprising in his work. He wrote and edited booklets, school texts, histories, digests, magazines, fliers, plays. From his earliest years as a priest, Don Bosco communicated through his whole demeanour and person, through games, talking, visiting, preaching, and publishing. Communicating through the internet and publishing is a priority for Salesians. Inspired by this example of Don Bosco and the early Salesians, Social Communication continues an important priority.
