Don Bosco Tech Celebrates Family Day
DBTI Boroko, Port Moresby, PNG, 7 September 2023 — The Don Bosco Technological Institute celebrated the five days of Don Bosco Foundation week and ended it on the sixth day with the Family Day Celebration. The Family Day used to be an annual event celebrated by both the students and their families. However, for the past four years the institution has not celebrated the Family Day. Wantok Bosco 2023
“As the Yeast in today’s human family”, was the theme of this year’s WANTOK BOSCO Youth Camp. It was hosted at Don Bosco Technological campus from the 23rd to the 25th of June 2023. “As the yeast in Today’s Human Family”, Fr. This year’s ADMA Youth camp has for its theme the strenna of the Rector Major for 2023: “As the Yeast in today’s Human Family”. Originally called the 300 Youth for Mary founded in 2008 by the late Fr. Valeriano Barbero, SDB, pioneer Salesian missionary in Papua New Guinea, the group has now evolved into the ADMA Youth. Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, 27 Aprril 2023 — The first Salesians had arrived in Papua New Guinea on June 14, 1980. The presence of Fr. Valeriano Barbero, Fr. Rolando Fernandez and Br. Joseph Kramar in Araimiri, Gulf Province, was the start of the Salesian Mission in this part of the world 43 years ago. Spiritual Moderatos and Youth Animators Meeting took place on 13-14 April 2023 in Emmaus Center. The settings represented in the meeting-formation where DBTI – East Boroko, DBTS – Gabutu, DBTSS- Kokopo, DBTC – Kumgi, MHC Parish Araimiri, MHC Parish – Rapolo, MHC Parish – Sabama. The total of  number of the participants was 17 Youth Animators members of the various SYM in the above settings. Literacy & Numeracy Programme, 2022
The Literacy and Numeracy Program – an initiative to give free and quality education to the poor children from the settlements of Gabutu and Banana Block. The primary objective of the project is to eliminate the rate of illiteracy and school drop- outs in the settlements. Through this learning programme, the children are helped to access to regular formal education. Began on 18th April 2022, the project has served 87 children from the two settlements. 68 of them were able to complete the course. Out of the 68, 52 children have been successfully enrolled in different schools of the neighbourhood.…
