Pope’s Representative Visiting US!

On Friday, 12 October 2018, the Apostolic Nuncio to Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (the Holy Father’s Representative in PNG and SI), His Excellency Most Reverend Kurian Matthew Vayalunkal of India, visited our Don Bosco Institute where he concelebrated morning Mass in the DBTI Henderson Chapel and shared a morning talk to all the students at the assembly. This was the blessing for the institute to have him with us prior to the Apostolic Nuncio’s trip to Auki Diocese for the ordination of the first Solomon islander Bishop.
In his address at the assembly, he expressed the Holy Father’s fraternal care for young, his respect for the work of the Salesians in countries, his admiration and pastoral concern for all people of Solomon Islands, especially the privilege and blessing the people the Auki Diocese. The St Paul’s Chapel Community hosted a dinner for parishioners and guests after the Mass. After a wonderful and inspirational sharing, He was gracious with all the people he met. Students appreciated how he paid attention to the everyone and gave no signals that he was in a hurry to move on. He took his time. After his time with us, he took his flight to Auki for the ordination of Bishop Peter. By Grace O’odo, BOA student.

Editorial
Don Bosco

Don Bosco was creative, enthusiastic and enterprising in his work. He wrote and edited booklets, school texts, histories, digests, magazines, fliers, plays. From his earliest years as a priest, Don Bosco communicated through his whole demeanour and person, through games, talking, visiting, preaching, and publishing. Communicating through the internet and publishing is a priority for Salesians. Inspired by this example of Don Bosco and the early Salesians, Social Communication continues an important priority.
